Feeling Crappy

Today I had a sharp, horrible, movement preventing pain in my ovaries for 15 minutes. A pain so bad that I dry heaved and broke into a cold sweat and turned zombie pale. This happened to me a year ago. And today it happened right before I taught classes, making teaching especially fun. My mom theory scares me a bit, "Well lots of women have little cysts on their ovaries and every once in a while they burst and it can be very painful"
Also I would like to give a big FUCK YOU to the toothless meth lab owners who are giving sudafed a bad name. I need that shit, man. Especially living in the ever changing climate and air pressure of the swampland we call Georgia. Now I get ID'd when I go to buy some at the drugstore. Damn. Speed is so disgusting.

Fuck Yeah

Hairy Scary

They need to have a mascot like McGruff that warns you about the dangers of doing something. I think a good one would be Drizzle the Anti Drunk Driving Bear who speaks that crazy "blizack tizalk" and is "crazy about gettin crunk, but not down with drivin drunk"
Or maybe you could have Tammy the Touch Bear who scares the shit out of kindergartners when she reenacts a molestation incident with Naughty Touch Bear. (I actually did see puppets molest each other in 1st grade as part of my good touch bad touch education)
I think Wheezy the Asbestos Bear wins out though - he could wheeze and sleaze his way into our hearts while he warns us of the dangers of neglecting your home inspections with his diagrams of bleeding lungs.

I Know If I Put My Mind To It . . .

What video by what artist for what song in 1987 included a machine like this? (There was also another video featuring animatronic-taxidermic band members.)
That is a great song that never gets old, even almost 20 years later.
So today teaching was great - my classes seem pretty cool and smart - and I actually got some nervous laughs at some of my jokes today. I also gave a good lesson, and while you could care less, I feel great. I love teaching college students! Of course there are bad days, as with any job.
I'm glad it's not blazing hot outside today, too. I also took a great pee today.
The start of an amazing day? I certainly hope so!
Here's a shout out to Saucy Boots, or Mr. Sellers. Hopefully he is feeling better today!

Monkey McBoodles

(Photo is an accurate, up-to-date headshot.) Well, my first two sessions of class have been taught, and I must say that I acted like a crazed incompetent spaz and probably scared off half the class. All of my jokes felt flat on the floor to a resounding dead silence. My students probably thought I was coked up or something, as I didn't really stop to breathe between sentences. I have a feeling my class population will change quite a bit until drop/add is over on Thursday. Which is good b/c some of my old students want to get into my class - old students that I really liked.
I am responsible for the education of young adults - the world is a scary place.

Wild Wookie Wednesday

Today I feel about like this. I've got a lot of work to do this semester, and I'm afraid the stress is not making me the most pleasant person to be around. God save my future students.

Happy Birthday Jimmy

Mr. Nutters took one moment to coldly calculate his next move, which happenend to be a very violent attack on 4 children at Southlane Mall.

Skwerl goes to skewl

Get back to WORK!!!!
School starts on Thursday! I have a great schedule too look forward to, for once.
Teaching SPAN2001 MWF - 2 classes 11:20 to 1:20. Then taking classes Tues and Thurs from 11:20 to 1:20 on tues and til 4:30 on thurs. Hell yeah. Sleeping in till 10 am is most definitely going to be a bad habit this semester.
Hopefully I will be organized and on the ball in a couple of days, because I'm very far from it at this point. I'm not even going to be in town friday for the first day of teaching due to a wedding in ST louis. I'm going to video tape myself giving a typical class intro and have my sub show it to the students. Maybe I should wear a bear suit and have them circle a picture of what I most likely look like for prizes like a free taco platter.
I'm definitely riding the UGA bus this year - walking was a waste of time last semester. I rode the school bus from K through 10th grade in public school - except for some brief stints in carpooling. That always turned out to be a bitching parent bonanza. "Just ride the bus today. It's too late for me to drive you." Although, I would not have wanted to drive around hormonal middle school girls with bad attitudes either. I do remember that anything could happen on the bus - and bus drivers were the craziest. you knew someone crossed the line when the bus driver pulled over and did the walk down the aisle. "We will turn around if you don't stop [insert inappropriate behavior here]" These empty threats rolled down their sweaty neck fat and evaporated into the hot pollution and spicy farts on nacho tuesdays. I pitied them, though, even as a child. I thought most of my bus friends were assholes back then, too.

Raindrops Falling on My . . .

Yesterday was a grey, blah day. Except for the hanging out with Melissa and Julia parts. Aside from those bright spots, it sucky sucked it's way to a rainy close. I had planned on forgetting about my stresses and going out until I got caught in a torrential downpour and could barely make it from my car to Julia's building. Hopefully today will be better.

Prom

Prom
Posted by: squirrelgirl23.
The Team Clairmont/PBR prom was this weekend and it was a 50-60s theme night o' fun. Josiah and I met up with friends and danced our feets off. It was really fun - we needed all day Sunday to recover.
I posted some new photos as well!

Big Boss

I have been watching the Sopranos every day at work - and I'm only halfway through the first season. It's nice to know that there 4 more seasons await me on the cold metal shelves of the media dept. And it's also overwhelming. What else can happen in a series that has been so eventful already?
I have also developed a crush on Tony Soprano. Yes, this is rather revealing about my psyche. . .

Yesterday Bunny (of www.meltingdolls.com fame) and I went to the mall. I know her by a different name, but I will keep that in the strictest of confidences - as we all know she is a secret agent.
We had fun snarfing down snickerdoodles and dancing around in the dressing rooms. Then she adopted my cat later and suggested renaming him Denzel.
If you're ever hang out with Ms. MsIntosh I personally guarantee a fun, intelligent and hilarious time.

Lately I have been a lazy skwerl. I don't do much more than clean the house and watch movies - even though I'm supposed to be getting some work done before school starts.
Summer makes me a slug, I don't even feel like going out at night. Maybe I'm just getting old.
I could go to sleep right now....zzzzzzz
